About Us

Two former senior executives of Coles Supermarkets, Steve Wootten and Zlate Angelovski, formed the Retail Crew in 2009. With more than 55 years of retail experience between them, they are Directors with a can-do, hands-on style to the planning and execution of all tasks.

The Retail Crew initiated its operations in Victoria and Queensland, but quickly grew into a nationwide service, working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most of The Retail Crew staff are former retailers and/or merchandisers, giving us a distinct advantage over our competitors. We understand Retail and the urgency to execute on time and on budget.

Steve Wootten

Steve has an extensive retail background in Category Management, Marketing and Project Leadership, with particular expertise in the development and execution of business strategies. Steve worked for Coles Supermarkets for more than 21 years and has a vast knowledge of how Retailers operate and what they are looking for.

Steve worked in, or headed up, various Buying teams at Coles, including Dairy/Freezer, Seasonal, Confectionery, Snack-foods, Bakery, Cereals and Spreads. He was also hand-picked to develop part of a five-year strategy used by the Coles Group in a lead-up to its sale to Wesfarmers.

Steve also headed up the National Promotions team and supervised the Demonstrations and Sampling operations for a few years, gaining a vast knowledge of what was required to execute successful campaigns in-store and outside.

Steve has been acknowledged for the following achievements:

• Won Coles Group Excellence Award 2006(Innovation)
• Won Coles Myer Young Retailer of the Year, Australian Supermarket Scholarship
• Nominated as the Victorian Young Retailer of the Year four times

Zlate Angelovski

Zlate is an experienced and highly qualified retailer with an extensive strategic and operational leadership background in the FMCG business sector. With more than 28 years experience, he comes with a strong sales and operating focus and an exceptional record of achievement in driving growth and profitability in multi-site management throughout Australia.

Zlate is a customer-focused executive with outstanding leadership and strategic planning skills. His open and inclusive leadership style highlights a proven ability to develop and motivate highly successful teams to achieve operational excellence.

Zlate has worked in most states of Australia within the FMCG business sector and held several senior positions, along with the accountability of 6000-plus team of members and more than four billion dollars per annum in sales. He was a finalists/winner in most categories of the annual Employer awards which recognized individuals who were able to strive for excellence and achieve results through passion, innovation and leadership.

Zlate has been recognised in the following:

Zlate completed a Post Graduate qualification through Deakin University in Melbourne 2006 along with many other executive leadership courses held at Monash University, Mt Eliza Business School and Melbourne.
